Since the March 2016 announcement of the 48-hour collaborative BIM competition for the eighth Build Earth Live series, the unprecedented popularity of the Hyperloop edition of the series has seen Dubai’s Future Foundation and Road & Transport Authority join the event as government sponsors. The Dubai government is planning to build Hyperloop infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the near future.
Asite and the Dubai government ministry will host representatives from finalist teams in Dubai for judging and awards with our sponsors Vectorworks and Hyperloop One.
In order to take full advantage of this exciting development the sponsors and leading teams have agreed to move the start date of the event to Monday, September 26, 2016 at noon GST and the closing of the competition to Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at noon GST.
The schedule will also be modified to enable finalist teams to travel to Dubai, courtesy of the Prime minister’s office, following the 48-hour competition to participate in the award festivities where winners will be announced.

Created by Asite and headline sponsored by global design and BIM software developer Vectorworks, Inc., the series exists to showcase how new technology is revolutionizing construction. Teams are going to get together in collaborative Building Information Modelling (cBIM) technology and create the future of transportation. The event is going to focus on of station terminuses to support the route between Dubai and Fujairah.

About Build Earth Live
Build Earth Live is and annual competition arranged by Asite to encourage and raise awareness of cloud-based working, international developments in interoperability and public access to the design process. The team-based competition will takes place over 48 hours, allowing contributions and collaborations from around the world during and after working hours. Design teams from around the world are invited to join in worldwide collaborative Building Information modelling (BIM). Award winners are recognised as leaders in their field and masters of collaborative technologies.
Build Hyperloop Live
Hyperloop will be the latest event challenge in the annual Build Earth Live series. This edition in the series of events created by Asite with headline sponsorship from global design software developer Vectorworks, Inc. and Premier Industry sponsorship from Hyperloop One. This 48hr global collaborative BIM competition will showcase how new technology is revolutionising construction. The fact that the Prime Ministers’ office in Dubai is promoting and sponsoring the future of transportation is super exciting and will focus on the design of station terminuses within the context of the two great global cities; Dubai and Fujairah.
Prior to the competition, organisers will release a high-level design brief to all potential participants – followed by the release of full details before the event starts. Teams are free to exploit any interoperable technology and to update a public collaboration site. Visitors can observe and comment on the collaborative process.
The event will conclude with presentations to the press and awards announced by an expert panel.
